Pomander

Pomander or also scent poma was an odorous amulet hung around the neck or waist and was used during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Its name comes from its name in French, pomme d'ambre, which means amber knob (fruit), referring to ambergris, a substance of animal origin and a pleasant smell.

The pomander consisted of a spherical container, a type of perforated and closed vessel that contained aromatic plants and essences, it was made with various materials and fragrant substances were placed inside.
